International Alumni Network Meeting 2005
International Alumni Network Meeting 2005 The Kobe University International Student Center (KISC) held the International Alumni Network Meeting to establish a network of international graduates on November 12 at the International Student Center.
Firstly, Associate Professor Park started by explaining the "Initiatives for Kobe University International Student Alumni Network". This was about how existing organizations or groups of the university are closely related:
1) Office for Promotion of International Exchange, 2) GAKUYUKAI, 3) returnee graduate networks, 4) Japan based graduate networks and 5) current student networks. Next, representatives of international alumni from Taiwan, Vietnam, Korea, Indonesia and China, introduced their community activities and web sites.
A lively exchange of information and opinions concerning how the new network program for international alumni will benefit students and graduates and what could be a problem to run the project continuously was carried out. exchange of information and opinions.
This was followed by a presentation by Prof. Nakanishi, Director of KISC, on "The current situation and future of Kobe University international Student Center based on international strategy". Under the four categories, "Research, Education, Cooperation and Organization", the university will promote the training of internationally oriented human resources and standardize university's education programs internationally.
Also the following topics were discussed: 1) the possibility of establishing a Japan based international graduate association, 2) Relaunch the international alumni network web page, 3) the 3rd Kobe University International Student's Homecoming Day in 2006.
After an active discussion, a party was held at the Takigawa Memorial Hall over looking the wonderful Kobe night view. The co-host, GAKUYUKAI Vice President Shima and Secretary-General Suzuki's attendance made the party more cheerful and meaningful for graduate participants to strengthen ties with the university.
KISC wishes to enhance the existing returnee student database, and help establish an international alumni network. In this way, the university will have an infrastructure to use this "very important global human asset". It will encourage further global academic research and networking among faculty and students, and also create a system for crisis and disaster management.

朴鐘祐助教授による構想の発表 神戸大学留学生センターは11月12日、留学生センターで卒業留学生同窓会ネットワーク構築を目的とする連絡協議会を開催しました。
最初に、朴鐘祐助教授から、「留学生センターを中心とする卒業留学生ネットワーク」について構想の発表がありました。神戸大学国際交流推進本部、学友会、帰国留学生ネットワーク、日本在住の卒業留学生ネットワーク、在学留学生のネットワークを密接につなぎ合うものです。
続いてネットワーク構築のための各国留学生会と協議に入りました。台湾・ベトナム・韓国・インドネシア・中国の留学生たちが運営しているホームページが紹介され、各国留学生会のホームページと大学とのリンクの問題をはじめ、実際に運用するにあたってのメリットとデメリットについてさまざまな視点から活発な意見交換が行われました。
次に、中西泰洋留学生センター長から、「国際戦略における留学生センターの現状と展望」と題して、研究・教育・連携・組織についてそれぞれ説明をし、日本人学生と留学生を含む、国際的人材の育成と教育の国際標準化についても本学の方針に添った形で具体的な話がありました。それを受けて、卒業留学生同窓会の運営のための在日卒業留学生と、(1)神戸大学在日卒業留学生会創設の可能性 (2)卒業留学生同窓会ホームページのリニューアル (3)2006年11月11日 (土) に開催予定の第3回神戸大学留学生ホームカミングデイについても協議。最後に、卒業留学生から非常に積極的で実質的な意見が出たことにより、卒業留学生同窓会ネットワーク構築が実現に向けて大きく前進しました。 その後、夜景を見ながらの「交流会」が瀧川記念学術交流会館で開かれました。共催団体である学友会の島一雄副会長、鈴木正二郎幹事にも出席いただいたことで、午後の協議会参加者と学友会との絆も一層深まりました。
これを機に、既存の帰国留学生データーベースをより充実させ、卒業留学生のネットワーク構築が実質的に機能すれば、「国を超えた大事な宝」を神戸大学の人材として活用できる基盤が整備されることになります。神戸大学が国際交流に関して掲げている目標である、諸外国の学生、教職員との学術的交流を質的・量的にも一層充実させることが可能になるとともに、留学交流における危機管理、災害リスクマネージメントとしても効果が期待されるものと思われます。
