Kobe Centennial Hall was awarded the 16th Kobe Landscape and Point Award. The award ceremony was held on November 30th at the Kobe Machizukuri Center on the 2nd floor.
This building commemorates the 100th anniversary of the University. It consists of three facilities: Kobe University International Students Center, Seishi Yamaguchi Memorial House and Kobe University Kaikan.
The design is characterised by the large eaves which resemble a bird flying away from the hill at the southern point of the campus, and a platform overlooking Osaka bay.
This prize is awarded to buildings which contribute to the formation of Kobe's urban landscapes. It was awarded to this building because "there is a platform with a large 21-meter staircase on the second floor creating a space to overlook the landscape of Kobe. This building attempts to harmonise with the mountainous landscape of Rokko."
This award in our university is the second time following the 4th (Heisei 2nd) medical hospital affiliated hospital. - Facilities Department - "
