The Summer Program in Japanese Language & Culture spanning two weeks is designed for students studying Japanese at overseas Universities sharing academic partnerships with Kobe University. First held in 2003, this annual program has welcomed almost 600 students from 80 universities since. However, the 2020 program could not be held due to the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). The pandemic has similarly interrupted numerous students' plans to visit or study in Japan. To support such students' aspirations, the 2021 course this year will be offered online, for no cost.
Delivered mostly in Japanese, the course not only focuses in furthering students' reading, writing, speaking and listening skills, but aims to deepen student's understanding of Japanese society and current issues facing Japan. Through virtual tours and interaction with Kobe University students, this course aims to provide the closest experience to studying abroad as possible. Students who hope to some day study at Kobe - please come join us for a one-off glimpse into Kobe University life.
